Editor's Corner
As we have now passed the first hundred days of the new administration, the conversation that many had been anticipating about new possibilities for health care reform and wellness promotion and disease prevention is in process. Hopefully, and waiting in anticipation if we can move forward in a new direction and finally let go of an old medical paradigm focused on disease and medical intervention and where ninety seven percent of health care is spent on illness and only 3% on prevention.
The following is a recent reflection by Wayne Jonas MD who helped to craft the WIN document (Wellness Initiative for the Nation) that we have followed over the past few months in our Yellow Courtyard Newsletter.
For the complete WIN document, go to: www.samueliinstitute.org
Regarding Early White House Health Reform Efforts, read Dr. Jonas' recent reflection.
Warmly,
Susan

Letter from Jason Gordon, Founder, Yellow Courtyard
Recently, many of us reunited as a practitioner community to celebrate Earth Day. The feedback was inspiring and many of you requested that we continue our connection through these informal gatherings. I thought that if we were to meet this year at special times; for example around the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox? For those who were not able to attend, we missed you and hope to see you next time! Any feedback or input is welcome as to how to have this be both fun and a meaningful exchange.
Stay tuned for information on our next practitioner gathering.

We cannot avoid it if we tried. So let's not avoid them. Let's look for the light at the end of the rainbow, and start shedding that light on our patient's lives. We are the people they look to for hope, a positive outlook, and tools and programs to supersede the masses.

A summary of findings and quotes from the authors is available at www.bioinitiative.org/press_release/index.htm.
